Replacement of a single missing tooth (implant-supported crown)

If a single tooth is missing, an implant is the ideal solution. The implanted titanium artificial root replaces the original root, onto which a completely lifelike, bespoke zirconium or ceramic crown is fitted once healing is complete.

It restores missing teeth and halts bone loss without the need to grind down any of the adjacent healthy teeth at all.

How do we go about it?

Under local anaesthetic, we place the dental implant into the precisely prepared bone. After a 3–6-month osseointegration period, we take a digital impression and screw the final, aesthetic crown into place.

Missing multiple teeth (implant-supported bridge)

When several adjacent teeth are missing – particularly at the end of the arch, where there are no remaining natural abutment teeth – a bridge supported by implants is the only fixed, non-removable option.

What problem does it solve?

It restores full chewing function and facial contours even in cases where a conventional bridge could no longer be fitted.

How do we go about it?

Depending on the extent of the gap, we insert two or more implants into the jawbone; once they have osseointegrated, these act as stable abutments to support the metal-free zirconium bridge.

Full-mouth rehabilitation (Fixed bridge / All-on-4)

Being completely toothless no longer means you have to spend the rest of your life with removable dentures. With modern implant procedures (e.g. All-on-4 technology), as few as 4–6 strategically placed implants can support a full, fixed dental bridge.

What problem does it solve?

It eliminates the discomfort caused by removable dentures, as well as looseness, coverage of the roof of the mouth and reduced chewing strength.

How do we go about it?

Following precise 3D digital planning, we place the implants in the most suitable areas of the jawbone; after healing, these are fitted with a fixed, screw-retained, natural-looking full-arch bridge.

Duration of treatment

  • Surgery: 60–90 minutes per jawbone
  • Recovery: 3–6 months (with a temporary replacement if necessary)

Implant-supported removable denture

If your existing dentures are loose, cause sores on your gums or interfere with your speech and chewing, but you do not want a full fixed denture, clip-on or bar-retained dentures are the perfect compromise.

What problem does it solve?

It stabilises the removable dentures so that they do not shift whilst chewing and do not fall out whilst speaking.

How do we go about it?

We insert 2–4 implants per jaw, which are fitted with special snap-on or bar-type retention devices. The denture clicks securely onto these attachments, but can still be removed for cleaning.

Bone grafting and sinus lift

Where teeth were lost some time ago, the bone gradually breaks down and becomes thinner. In modern oral surgery, this is no longer a contraindication: we restore the necessary bone volume using bone grafting materials and a sinus lift.

What problem does it solve?

It creates bone of the appropriate height and width to ensure the safe, lifelong integration of the implants.

How do we go about it?

Under local anaesthetic, we inject a biocompatible bone graft material into the missing bone structure (or the floor of the maxillary sinus). Over time, this material transforms into the patient’s own bone tissue. In many cases, bone grafting and implant placement can be carried out in a single operation. The treatment is completely painless.

30–50 minutes – the ossification period is 4–9 months, depending on the extent of bone replacement

Frequently Asked Questions

Will having the implant fitted hurt?

Not at all. We use modern local anaesthesia, so you won’t feel a thing during the operation. Any mild tightness you may experience in the days following the procedure can be completely relieved with standard over-the-counter painkillers.


How long does healing and bone formation take?

The osseointegration process usually takes 3–6 months. This period does not require you to take time off work: after taking it easy for 1–2 days following the operation, you can resume your normal daily routine.


Is there an upper age limit for implantation?

Could I be allergic to a titanium implant?

Does the implant affect MRI scans or airport security scanners?

No. Titanium is a non-magnetisable (non-ferromagnetic) metal, so it is safe to undergo an MRI scan whilst wearing it, and it will not set off airport metal detectors.
